Ideas for a new Acadia Park neighbourhood

10:23 Jul 26 2013 Acadia Park, UBC

Description
What if the line were re-drawn on the Land Use Plan, so that the new student housing neighbourhood were beside the daycares and what will be left of the forest after Block F turns into a giant condo development? If we were on the back end of Acadia Rd/Osoyoos Crescent, it would be quieter, more contained, we could keep the stands of forest to buffer from other neighbourhoods? The style of the neighbourhood could be laneway housing with cars on perimeter or underground (I don't like underground but anyway). The important detail is: Families with children have ground floor access. Graduate students (single & couples) could live in the stories above the families (maybe up to 4 in total?). Just some thoughts...

I hadn't thought of this, but it would certainly make it easier for families to walk their kids to daycare. The only concern I have is for the proximity to Frat Village. After living in Point Grey Apts, I would suggest families to live as far away from there as possible! I have also heard that there are some serious similar issues on Presidents Row with the undergrads who live across the street.
